    <idAbs>Le nettoyage des grèves consiste à ramasser les déchets qui s’accumulent, poussés par les vagues (végétaux : algues filamenteuses, plantes arrachées au fond du lac, branches, etc.).&lt;br /&gt;Le faucardage consiste à couper et extraire du lac les plantes aquatiques (macrophytes) qui se développent dans certains sites. Lorsqu’elles croissent jusqu'à atteindre la surface de l’eau, elles peuvent devenir gênantes pour la baignade et la navigation. Le faucardage permet ainsi d’améliorer le confort des utilisateurs du lac.&lt;br /&gt;Pratiqué sans contrôle, le faucardage peut avoir des effets néfastes pour l'équilibre écologique du lac car les herbiers lacustres constituent des milieux précieux pour la flore et la faune aquatiques.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Afin d'éviter des conflits d’intérêt entre l’utilisation du lac par l’homme et la protection de la nature, une véritable stratégie du faucardage a été mise en place par l’Etat de Genève.
