Le Diagnostic local de sécurité est un exercice trisannuel qui a débuté en 2004. Il était initialement concu comme un tableau de bord cantonal de la sécurité publique à Genève. Il s'est progressivement étendu à plusieurs communes du canton. En 2016, la Ville de Genève, Vernier, Meyrin, Carouge et Plan-les-Ouates participent à cet exercice.
