Description: Les réserves forestières, également considérées comme réserves naturelles au sens du Règlement cantonale sur la protection du paysage, des milieux naturels et de la flore (RPPMF, L 4.05 11) sont validées par arrêté du Conseil d'État. Ces réserves sont définies sur la base des valeurs biologiques qu'elles abritent, d'inventaires fédéraux et cantonaux ou encore des connaissances d'experts. La présence de ces valeurs naturelles impliquent une inscription au cadastre des restrictions de droit public à la propriété foncière (RDPPF) tel que défini par la Confédération. L'inscription d'une parcelle au cadastre RDPPF a pour but de préserver l'intérêt public de certaines propriétés.
